I ordered and received a Monoprice cable. The coating of the wire speaks of a monocene. I'm not an audiophile, but PLEASE don't be fooled by the "high" cable and wire marketing demons. Unless you're Superman or a dog and don't have Uber hearing, you'll save $$$ on your electronics where it matters. I used this cable to make my own beefy speaker coax cables to replace the "too short" cables that came with my Vizio 5.1 soundbar. / Satellite speaker system (54" system here at Revain. Great system by the way) I used premium Monoprice RCA connectors here at Revain as well. People say these plugs are too heavy to attach wires. Yes, if you don't know how to solder it properly you will make a mess and blame the product. I'm not an experienced solderer, but I've watched a lot of YouTube videos and looked at pictures. And then I practiced a bit with a decent soldering iron. I made no mistakes and the cables worked perfectly the first time. 12 gauge copper speaker wire is ideal for making your own speaker wire. It was too big for what I did with the RCA connectors. but i got it to work. 14 or 16 gauge wire would have been better and probably sufficient for the purpose but I wanted 12. Learn how to solder, use a good soldering iron with the right temperature for the solder, first tin the ends of the speaker's copper wires (not an optional step) and do it. The correct soldering temperature is important for strong solder joints. And also. Do not leave the iron on the copper wire for too long or you may melt the cable jacket. I probably kept it too long but the sheathing of this mono price wire held up well. Now I have 5.1 surround sound :-) Laid cables in the attic?
