The shelf I love. But directions are not directions. Also, no adapter is included, giving you a power source that you can plug into anywhere that power plugs into a laptop. I am VERY disappointed with this purchase, except that the shelf itself is solid and not overly bulky. I'll use it with no problems, but buying a shelf of USB ports and then not being able to use (or figuring out how to use) the USB ports I paid for is silly. I could just buy a shelf. Probably cheaper. If you find a similar product from another manufacturer, I would advise you to do so. If you're anything like me, you hate the new directionless instructions we're getting when people seem to have forgotten how to use their words. Only pictures. And in this case, not even that. Dud, unless you're looking for a shelf and looking for USB ports.
