Review on Flash Furniture Ergonomic Adjustable LeatherSoft by Mari Reyes

Defective design, serious problem!

This product has been used for less than a year and has completely failed. The weight of the chair is significantly less than the manufacturer claims (205 pounds). The main problem is that the tilt function is adjustable from the right side. This means that when you recline (as it should) there is an inherent twisting force on the control lever side of the backrest. This, combined with the horrific weld, ultimately leads to very early product failure. As I leaned back, I noticed that the back seemed "relaxed." The bolts worked loose on their own before, so I decided to just tighten the hex nuts holding the backrest in place. When I removed the covers I noticed that the entire bracket was "loose". Realizing the screws were tight and the backing was loose, I decided to open the vinyl cover. That's when I realized that the strut that attached the chair's backrest to the control knob had completely broken off the natural backrest's arm. Terrible design. Other downsides to this chair include cheap upholstery that almost flattens out after less than a year of use. Vinyl armrests are already breaking. Just a terrible product. I am leaving this review so that others may have a more complete review. However, for the first 4 months I really liked this chair. Then it just started to fall apart, because the true quality of the chair can only be seen after a long period of use. I strongly DO NOT recommend buying this chair if you are happy with a replacement in less than a year.
