Review on Ergotron – LX Single Monitor Arm by Alexander Scharon

When I ordered my Cintiq 27QHD I didn't want to spend the $400 it costs to get this fixed ergo stand that they sell separately for this particular unit. Fortunately, many people have commented that this particular paddle works exceptionally well with this particular Cintiq. I have to agree This thing is a beast, machined from solid aluminum and constructed with heavy-duty metal springs and hinges, and while the claimed weight rating is 20-25 pounds, I'm pretty sure it's strong enough to carry it far. more (but don't quote me on that) since the 27QHD weighs just under 20 pounds and the thing doesn't even flinch when held in any position. Getting it right for the weight takes some getting used to, but that goes for anything you put on. It also has cable management so you can launch cops from the monitor through the frame of the arm itself, a couple of zip ties to manage the cable, etc. Another benefit of this arm over a stand: positioning. Although the Ergostand is more stable overall, it can only move the screen a little vertically. The Ergotron XL arm has much better movement and reach, e.g. B. It can be raised so you can stand and work at a comfortable height, slide the screen out of the way so you have room for other things when not in use, or even be able to fully close the screen rotate which is absolutely useful for a digital tablet to get perfect strokes without having to mess around with the actual orientation of the app or to get the right shape screen you prefer instead of preferring "portrait" landscape" for example. For those who have to wear this piece for long hours every day, the mobility offered by the arm is essential for comfort and flexibility. I believe the weight rating relates to the fact that with enough weight at the end of this floating thing, the desk/table/whatever attached to it will exert some stress, potentially causing enough stress to break the table/table. however. Given that this thing is most likely worth at least as much as the hand itself, I'm assuming you don't want this. But even a simple neutral hand position (with the top hand resting on top of the mounting bar) holds the monitor reasonably well while still allowing a greater range of motion than the Ergostand without putting as much pressure on the table as if the hand had been extended. For this particular unit I had to use an adapter as the base VESA screws for this mount are only 100x100, but that doesn't matter, it works fine with any adapter. Overall very happy with this purchase, without a doubt a good investment.
