It's not cast iron. These are welded sheet metal parts.
Steel stampings welded together. Not cast iron. It looks fragile and has sharp edges. I cracked some chestnuts with it. It worked. However, the loop is already warped because it is made of thin sheet metal. I don't expect this to last long.
