I can't guarantee the durability as I haven't had it that long, but it seems to be very durable. As you can see from the ad, it's 1 1/2" wide, which is 1/4" wider than a regular belt, so measure your loops before purchasing. The closure is also not standardized. Most of my buckles clip onto one end of the strap. The other end of the belt is passed through the loops and then through the buckle from the other direction, where it is held in place by a bulbous cylinder that floats in the grooves of the buckle. This buckle does not have a cylinder but a secondary clamping mechanism that holds the threaded end in place. It seems to have a more secure grip than the others and I'm more confident it will hold holsters and other gear without slipping. Because the belt is wider, the buckle is larger than many others. And it's strong, so it's heavier. Most of my belt buckles weigh 1 ounce. This one weighs 2.7 ounces.
