To be honest I wanted a quick and easy velcro to manage power cords, cables etc. I couldn't decide between this and the velcro - so I bought both. LAUGH OUT LOUD! I think it's easier since I don't have to thread the velcro through the hole first - and I like that they're on strips. The other is on a perforated roll and really doesn't split that easily. I have read that some people have said they are torn etc. For the amount I got for the price and for the fact that I didn't buy them to use again and again, just to wrap some cords and you're done - I think they will work for my purpose (and if one should break I can just use the other). If they tear easily - when I'm packing and unpacking something daily - or infrequently - I can see that would be a problem, but they work perfectly for my purpose.
