I need this to move my high speed document scanner to a cheaper location. I've been an avid fan of the paperless office for years, as soon as I receive a document I scan it and then shred it. I do this so often that I got frustrated with my old scanner because it took about 20 seconds to scan and the one I use now took less than 5 seconds. Of course, part of the key to this is using a very high quality USB 3.0 cable and trying to keep it as short as possible. My old cable was five feet, a little shorter. I tried to find an eight foot long but was unsuccessful, and not only was ten foot hard to find, it really got me thinking about how long it should be without using any sort of speed. Not only was it the perfect 6.6 foot length, it was reasonably priced and shipped to my door the next day. In addition, there is the attraction, which is important to me in my graphics studio. I won't go into benchmarking because I think it's presumptuous - everyone's hardware, software, and usage methods vary widely. I'm just saying that it meets or exceeds the speed of most printers and scanners available. Not that it's a big deal, but this cable looks great too, the shaded gray complementing the latest smartphones and other electronics. That's a plus for me, I like it when my office looks tidy.
