Not For Me - Running

I want to start by running Endorphin Speeds for a few months now. As I was preparing for a half marathon, I felt like I needed something with more cushioning for longer runs. As I love speeds so much I naturally turned to the Shift hoping for the same feel with a little more cushioning for 10+ miles a day. THIS SHOE IS NOT. In my opinion, the change is tough, blocky and uncomfortable. Significantly heavier than Speed and much larger. The tongue is soft and the stitching sits awkwardly on the bony prominence on my leg, resulting in a painful spot. The heel fabric is silky and my heel slipped off no matter how I laced up. I tried to troubleshoot and couldn't get a smooth ride. I ran with fresh legs and my feet and calves felt tired and sluggish. I struggled to maintain my normal pace which was easy in other shoes. I couldn't take them off and came back fast enough. I'm still looking for a comfortable trail worthy shoe, but I'd rather run 13.1 at speed than give them another run.
