Review on πŸŽ’ Fuel Wide Mouth Sports Backpack, Black/Lime Green with Bungee, Inner Tech Pocket, and Sizzle/Shattered Geo Print by Dominique Robinson

Good overall concept, bad zippers.

The basic design concept is good - spacious main compartment with large zipped flap at top. However, the zippers do not meet the requirements. When the package arrived, the zippers felt thin and stiff - not a very promising combination. The zippers are so tight that it is impossible to close/open the compartment without holding the zipper with your free hand. After less than two years of careful handling, these tight, brittle zippers are finally starting to fall apart. The main compartment zipper is completely broken - the zipper teeth have broken and both zippers have come loose. Also, the zipper in the front compartment is starting to bind and the zipper teeth seem to be loose/deformed where they got stuck. Also, the zipper puller in the front compartment broke off (I replaced it with a cord loop). Another important design flaw: the zipper in the front compartment is only "one-way", the zipper goes through more than halfway. at the sides of this section. This configuration means that every time you start opening the front compartment, it immediately opens to one side, closer to the bottom of the compartment, making it easy for small items to fall out of that side when the compartment is opened. God forbid someone forgets to fully close the front compartment and then starts walking/running, with small items falling out of the bottom opening created by the partially unzipped. This front compartment design flaw is easy to fix: the zipper only goes across the top of the front compartment (and not as far down the sides of the front compartment); or by using two opposite zippers instead of one, so the compartment can be opened from the top (and not just the bottom). This Fuel backpack is backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty. I'll let you know later when they reply. UPDATE: Bijoux (manufacturer/dealer) supports their products. The company honored their lifetime warranty by sending me a replacement backpack two years after the original purchase. I only wish they had a "utility" line of backpacks that featured this design with stronger zippers.
