They were used to widen pockets on good pants with flat pockets that spilled out when you sat down. The glue is the strongest on an iron I've ever seen. Be careful not to merge it where you don't need it - add a piece if needed. I only know one size, so if your pockets are larger or smaller, you'll need to be creative to fit. The top of the repair bags I received is 6 1/4" overall. My bags were a bit wider, so I adjusted them by opening the top of the repair bag's side seam to accommodate the wider pockets.
