Advantages: This drinks holder is very stable and can be screwed on. I don't need a holder that snaps or sticks. That fits the bill! It supports phones of all sizes and almost every cup size. It stands at a fixed angle to the driver. I wish it was adjustable, up/down/left/right. But it sits at the perfect height, just below the top of the dash but slightly at eye level. The mount flexes a little, allowing for some movement. Cons: Difficult to install! JL requires removal of the central control unit to access the bolt under the handrail (photo). I was very hesitant to remove the plastic frame, I was afraid of breaking it! Luckily, a good friend with a lot of Jeep experience came to the rescue. Using plastic tools (larger than the one provided) he firmly lifted the faceplate and then pryed the entire unit out. It took a lot of strength. Once the bracket snaps into place, the control box snaps back into place. All in all, the installation took about 15 minutes. If you are uncomfortable working with the dashboard or interior components, seek help as I did. There are many other phone holder options out there, but they may not be as durable as this one.
