I recently received this padded t shirt for my 9 year old son and it is exactly what I was looking for. First, it takes about 30 seconds to assemble. It consists of 3 parts. base, down tube and top tube. There's a heavy bolt that you screw in (by hand - you don't even need a wrench) and you just thread the bolt into the bottom plate and through the down tube. You twist it by hand until it's tight, then slide the top tube into the bottom tube and you're done! The t-shirt is made entirely of rubber and that's definitely what you need. Some t-shirts are made of plastic or have plastic components and these are not what you want because they end up breaking quickly and they break often. This t-shirt is very durable. So strong I suggested my son's little league baseball team use it at every practice, so now 12 kids hit it a few times a week. I highly recommend it.
