I have never trained a gun dog before. All the bird dogs I had, I somehow got them after they had already been trained. Last year I had to decide what to do. Save up and buy a fully trained dog or buy a puppy and train it yourself? I have found these DVDs to be very helpful in my decision to purchase a fully trained dog for a number of reasons. They tell you what you're getting yourself into and how long it's going to take. With a little more research, you can find out how much this will cost you. Eventually I realized it was a financial scam. However, the video was also informative about what goes into the learning process and is helpful in reinforcing what your dog has learned. I think any Bird Dog owner would benefit from watching these videos for understanding. It also helps if your dog is weak in some areas and needs more exercise. After I bought my last dog, I used the knowledge I got from these videos to also teach my dog to find barns with horns. It was very funny. I think I've found that you almost always train your dog in one way or another.
