I chose to use tissues to avoid buying tissues (to save money, create less waste, one less thing to remember when buying and storing in remember my little house). These handkerchiefs were exactly what I was looking for - GOTS certified organic cotton (cotton is the crop most heavily contaminated by pesticides* - buying organic avoids poisoning the environment/people), crisp white (because I use benzoyl peroxide to treat use acne). face that fades the fabric) and plain weave cotton instead of fluffy flannel cotton (my personal preference). Bonus: They're made in the USA! I was hesitant to get the largest size but I'm glad I did. One of them lasts a day, and then I toss it in the laundry basket and use a new one the next day. They also make great napkins so I was able to stop buying paper napkins too. * Source: http://www.sfgate.com/homeandgarden/article/Does-cotton-clothing-contain-pesticides-3217015.php
