We're getting new furniture and need something to distract our three cats from tearing it to shreds. In just a week, all three cats are using it to scratch and rest in place of our new dining room chairs, so it hits our target. It's very durable and the cardboard layer is thick so there's plenty of room underneath despite the fairly scratched surface. It's larger than I intended and can also be flipped over to get a new scratching surface when one side wears out. While this seems expensive for cardboard, if I sum up what I've spent on minor scratches over time, it's actually more cost effective. Not to mention the savings in replacing or repairing furniture, carpeting or anything else in the house. Guess I'll have to replace this in a few months but it's worth it. Kitties love it and I love that it saves our home!
