Review on Lavalier Microphone Y Splitter Cable - TRRS Audio Signal Splitter For 2 Mics - PowerDeWise Mic And Mic Connector by Stephen Cooper

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The "Y-Splitter Cable " is NOT 3-pole compatible like a properly wired cable should be.

I tried using my 3 pole headset with this product in my Note5 and in my Razer Black Widow Chroma v2. This did not work. after digging through the images (and not trusting the description). that is the case.Apparently, the connector that needs to be used must always be the 4 pole male connector. You cannot use a 3 pole connector at all. The diagram shows (see the check/x picture) that you need to use a 4 pole headset if you want to use this connector to split audio, but you can't because they do not exist. 4 pole headsets use audio and mic in-line.Another picture (see the pic with the description) shows that audio and mic at the same time are not supported but the description shows that audio and mic are supported at the same time.Any way you slice it, this cord has questionable engineering .If you as a reader are looking for a cable that supports 1x TRRS Male to 2x TRRS Female connection then I give you this link to the product that works with my 3 pole headphones and should support your 4 pole headsets (mic signal booster may be needed for best quality): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IKMSMWI

Pros
  • Built well. The splitter works as advertised on a smartphone
Cons
  • Says it can be used to split a mic and that's just not true. Complete waste of money.
