They are cheap and light. Nothing more to say. Bought these for our storm kit. All we need is some form of light, perhaps for an extended period of time. No need for billions of yards of dive stats, expensive functional bells and whistles, or tactical gibberish. Cheap and simple is good as long as it's functional. They make light, have plain old on/off switches for reliability, and operate in one mode for convenience. Over 50 hours of illumination per battery pack, two lights for redundancy. This and four blocks of D-cells are sufficient for the intended purpose. Plus, at three bucks a piece, we won't be made to cry if the light breaks or is lost in the process.
