A must for an aspiring artist!

Are you an aspiring artist? Need a gift for a friend or family member? Then this tablet is for you! Possibly one of Veikk's best products, the Veikk 1200 is a great and affordable display tablet. And it's a great alternative to overpriced branded displays like Wacom Cintiqs. Trust me, stick with Veikk and you won't have to pay three times as much for a tablet anymore. First, what's in the box: - Tablet monitor (6 hotkeys included) - Getting started guide and driver download card - 2 pens/cases without battery - 1 pen holder - 20 EXTRA pen nibs - 1 pen remover - Smudge mitt - 2 tablet cables/ Connections - 1 cleaning cloth PLEASE NOTE that this tablet does not work as a standalone product. You will need a working PC or laptop to do this. Luckily, this display is compatible with both Windows and Mac. Second, there are no added/preinstalled graphics programs on this monitor. One of them must be pre-installed on your PC. This gives you a lot of options to choose from as this display is compatible with most art programs (I've personally used Medibang). I was pleasantly surprised at how much is packed into the tablet. I think the best part is that there is not one, but TWO pens, plus 20 EXTRA nibs, a pen holder, cleaning cloth and wipe mitt. These are elements I don't typically see on tablets from other brands like Wacom; and are REALLY beneficial in the long run. So it's great that you don't have to buy it separately as it's already included. In addition, I am very grateful that all these additional functions are easily accessible. (See attached image) They are placed directly under the tray/plastic case and are ready to use. In my experience with other tablet brands, IF they even include extra pen tips, they are usually hidden within the tablet itself, with no instructions on how to remove them. Which only creates unnecessary confusion for newbies who don't know how to open their tablet just for extra pens. But thankfully, Veikk packs his extra feathers in a plastic bag (along with other goodies not to be missed). No stress, no confusion. Now to the display itself. The display measures 318x189x12mm and has an active area of 11.6 inches. Which may seem small to you, but trust me, it has as much active storage as any tablet without being overly bulky. It's actually very portable, fitting in any book bag or suitcase for on the go. The display has a matte protective film, as well as 6 customizable hotkeys, 2 brightness keys and a power button. A matte protection and dimmable keys are just great for the eyes. If your eyes are sensitive, you can easily customize the screen to your liking! Also, the screen looks very smooth and natural with the stylus. Almost like drawing on paper. And finally, the 6 hotkeys are awesome. If, like me, you use keyboard shortcuts all the time, this is incredibly helpful. Just set them to the keys you want and you're done. You no longer need to reach for your keyboard and mouse to perform simple commands. Finally, let's get to installing and downloading. As already mentioned. Veikk includes a driver download card with a link to their website. Once on the site, all you have to do is download the right software for your PC (Windows or Mac version) and complete the installation once downloaded. Fast and easy. Once installed, plug in and turn on your tablet and you can adjust the display and monitor calibration and start drawing right away. In short, this is definitely one of Veikks' best products. Portable and user-friendly display with many customizable features, easy driver downloads and many additional benefits for long-term use. If I had any complaints, I personally think a tablet stand would be really useful for this display; and at the moment Veikk doesn't seem to offer anything. However, you can easily buy it cheaply. Regardless, I have no other issues with this product and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in digital art.
