The installation guide was in Chinese and the cartoons weren't very helpful. Eventually I realized that I could just press the bottom and it would snap into place. The top caught on one edge and then snapped on the other. Looks good, and the "Fire and Ice" space photo got a few comments. This prevents scratches, but is not a high-performance mode. The keyboard "guard" is just a piece of thin silicone that sticks to the keyboard and gets in the way. I do not use it.
