I was looking for a medium sized #403 brush but since it only cost a few dollars more just to get this set I did. I needed a highlighter brush and this one works great for that purpose. It's fluffy, so it may not suit everyone. I'm glad I chose this set because I really like the big brush. It is excellent for blush or powder. The shape of these brushes makes it easy to apply the product in the right place. Sometimes I even use a small eyeliner brush. It's really good for getting under your lower lashes. Especially if, like me, you play randomly with eye makeup after you've already applied mascara. For less than $10, these brushes are awesome.
