I bought them to decorate mugs. I bought another paint set with purple and green and they were oil based and they worked great. When I ordered the red and black set they came water based (weird) and didn't fit at all. I worked really hard to decorate the mugs and after I made them they just faded. As water-based markers, they are excellent for paper and similar materials. But they will never work with a face-like finish. Oil based is the way to go. And I'm a little annoyed because the order says they're oil based, just like the other color options. Water-based red and black packaging. Make no mistake.
