Expensive and unfortunately not very durable

Wow, expensive fan. I bought this to replace a plastic $15 Honeywell fan on my bedside table. The Honeywell could not be disassembled for cleaning, and running the fan every night causes dust to collect on the fan blades. Also, I have 3 year old twins who love putting things in the fan and I couldn't get anything they put in there (the battery has been there for two years and the quarter for about eight months). This one does the job - it makes a gentle breeze and white noise to help me sleep. Haven't tried taking it apart to clean it yet so I don't know if it will be easy or hard. Presumably kids can't cut their fingers in it, which is a big plus, although (thankfully) we haven't tested that theory. I like that the cable is wrapped into the bottom of the fan itself so there isn't much of it. And I LOVE the parental controls. My kids loved having the other on and off, on and off, on and off (repeat ad infinitum). I don't know if over sixty dollars is a fair price for this, but it serves my purpose. I sleep with him upstairs. Low is a very VERY light breeze and not loud enough to put me to sleep. This may be okay if you want a very gentle breeze to blow on the baby. And that's not much. Perfect size for a MARCH 2017 UPDATE: About four months ago it started making intermittent loud noises. This always happened when I first turned it on and I turned it off and on again and the noise stopped. Then he started doing it randomly (ie in the middle of the night) which woke me up. I turned it off and on again and sometimes it stopped and sometimes it didn't so I had to turn it off. Then it started doing it all the time, and no amount of cycling, banging, or shaking could stop the noise. This is useless now. So I bought a $14 fan from Target. My kids can put their fingers in it, which I don't like. The extra cable cannot be stored in the base, which I don't like. He is also slightly taller than Vornadobaby. But they cost $14 to replace and hopefully my kids will grow out of their desire to get their fingers stuck in fans soon. The door to my bedroom is locked at the moment. I'm giving it three stars because it lasts about as long as most people want to use a very small fan that blows a little wind around their child to circulate the room air. a cot for which it was probably intended, and not a lifetime of service on an adult's bedside table.
