These needles kept breaking for me as soon as they hit thicker areas such as seams. I got the advice from other Amazon users that Schmetz makes the best needle. I'll check - thought I'd have to stick with Janome as I have a Janome machine. 1/3/14 - Update: Just tried Schmetz needles - what a difference! Definitely superior, stronger than these.
