THIS WILL gradually wear down ENAMEL because the bristles are too hard. You may not notice it anytime soon, but watch out for the long-term effects. If I had to choose how to rank the bristle softness between soft, medium and hard, I would rate it as hard. I suspected it might be medium stubble, but when I felt it, DAMN it's too complicated to just be medium stubble. I work in the dental field and there is a reason why all dental hygienists and dentists always advise patients to use soft bristle toothbrushes. It's like using the rough green side of a dish sponge instead of the yellow, softer side. Rub the rough green side of the sponge on the stone long enough and the layer of stone will wear away millimeter by millimeter over time. You may not notice it, but it happens. Even half a millimeter of a layer of tooth enamel is a lot. There are other brands that CLEARLY state "soft" bristles on the packaging that you can purchase. I bought it because I love the design and the interchangeable tips, but not worth it to thin my enamel.
