Don't know exactly. Once I put it on my forehead and it says "high" and it's red. He doesn't tell me my temperature, just that I'm high. I did it again elsewhere and got 98.4 which is 99.4 oral. So a little high. Then I did it again in third place, and again I got high and didn't read. Did it orally on another thermometer and got 98.3. But for normal everyday work it worked fine (I think). Very easy to use. Very fast. Much faster than an oral thermometer. I have to take my temperature every day before work and after 8 months I already have my 4th thermometer. This is my favorite as it is very fast. Also, it says "contactless" in the name, which I don't think is right. I apply it directly to my forehead. I do not know if it is contactless read.
