My cat was 19 years old. She stopped eating dry food a while ago so I gave her wet food. She seemed to enjoy it - every time I put her (and our younger cat) the jar in, she devoured it. OldCat gained weight, looked "full", everything was great. Until one day I put in a glass that was bad. I remember he wasn't good looking but he didn't smell so I figured it was just an odd looking part of the animal. Both cats ate it and both cats got very sick on both ends. YoungCat recovered, OldCat did not. After that she could not eat anything and died a day and a half later. The fact that she was so ill at that age took too much away from her. Again she was very old. Would she have lived longer if it weren't for that jar of food? Yes. How much time does she have left? Who knows. Did that jar of food play a role in her death? Yes. So take it for what it's worth. I had to listen to my intuition.
