I had never used packing cubes before the 3 month trip I just took. They completely changed the game on the journey. This particular brand is very light and durable, easy to use and also looks and feels great when loaded. Price unbeatable. Give them a try - I thought they weren't needed and I thought I was already a good packer but now it's out of control.
