Review on Tamrac Stratus 15 Camera Bag by Chelsea Garcia

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Space well used

I had an old Canon bag that I was given as a gift years ago and I've gradually outgrown it. I held on to it because I like to run and shoot, so I don't want to be weighed down by a large bag. I've been shopping at local brick and mortar stores and several internet sites for months. I didn't know this bag existed until I got one of those "gift ideas" emails from another seller and started researching it further. It's larger than Canon's tried-and-true old bag, but not by much. However, I can fit in: four lenses, two cameras, six batteries and their chargers, a few filters and other peripherals, including my photography gloves (which I had to clip to the outside of my old bag). There are many delimiters that allow multiple configurations. Zippers are heavy and durable. The bag is water resistant and has a nice travel lining, and all pockets are well thought out and organized. The shoulder strap is adjustable and comfortable enough for long days with a nice thick and wide pad for comfort. If I had to choose a negative, I wish the tripod straps at the bottom of the bag were longer. I use a tripod for travel, it's quite small and fits in a bag. I can't tie the tripod in his bag to my camera bag so I have to take the tripod out. Even that fits snugly and leaves very little extra strap so I don't trust it 100% to secure my tripod when moving over rocks or rough terrain. If they gave me an inch or two more strap for my tripod, this bag would be a solid 10. From the looks of it, I'd give it a 9.8. in summary. If you want to attach a tripod to your bag, make sure it's small. The straps are more suitable for the monopod. That being said, I highly recommend this bag if you're trying to keep your gear organized in a bag that's small enough to sling over your shoulder for a day trip, but large enough to carry your essential gear and then some .
