I was originally interested in this because I wanted to replace a faulty Dell charger and couldn't remember what type of tip it used. I love that it has interchangeable tips for almost every brand of laptop imaginable, even square Lenovo brands! But I had doubts that it really works as I didn't understand how the adapter could know what the output voltage was. I thought that supplying a 15V laptop with 20V could of course cause a major malfunction, right? There is no control switch on the box to select the appropriate voltage. But then I noticed the clues - each one has clearly embossed lettering indicating what voltage it is for, and I think THAT tells the adapter what output voltage should be reasonable. Very cool design! It turns out that this adapter saved me the work. I needed an HP laptop to run a live streaming station and it uses these weird little blue feathers that aren't a standard size for anything else. The end of the original HP charger broke and I would only use the leftover battery for the duration of the event until I remembered this adapter! I found a matching blue tip that said 19V (the same says on my laptop) and of course it worked great! Charged the device with no problems! I am so thankful for this adapter!
