It's not too bright to be annoying, my daughter even asked for one for her.
I bought it for my son I thought it would work a little then it would break. Much to my surprise, it still works and my son leaves it on 24/7. It's not too bright to be annoying, in fact my daughter asked for one for her room as she says it can work as a night light while charging her phone.
