This small black bracket attaches to the air vent blade, holds the phone with a spring-loaded clip and adjusts screen visibility with a ball joint and locknut (a spare nut is included). Can't comment on reliability as I just installed it. At least when new, the spring clip that holds the phone is quite stiff and requires two hands to operate securely - maybe I'll learn how to use it with one hand. You have to be careful that the buttons on the sides of the phone come out of the clip, which means (in the case of my iPhone 6) that you push the phone quite high into the clip. The biggest issue right now is that the only available louver on my car is a pivoting horizontal louver that directs airflow up and down. This means the entire phone mount is a bit unstable as it rotates up and down with the blinds as well. This is manageable, but only with caution. The latch clip, which is a bit tricky to access because it's behind the ball joint, has provisions for thin or thick shutters, and presses against the latch fairly securely if you're careful. I think this inexpensive device will suit some drivers, some cars and some phones.
