Installed HID ballast with igniter on my 2005 Prius. It works well. Installation was difficult, not because of the details, but because Toyota didn't design the headlight assembly to be serviced. I had to cut the wire to the old headlight connector because the hole the wire goes through is too small for the big connector. I had to disassemble the new connector so only the wires could go through the hole. Then I had to assemble the connector. There are several videos and articles on this - search "Replacing the Headlight Ballast on a 2005 Prius". Not too difficult, just not as easy as it should be, especially for those who don't do it regularly.
