I don't know how they work when her heating pad won't turn on but I hope they prove themselves of my dogs as worthy. I put a heating pad under their donuts, two blankets on their beds, and this rug on top of their blankets. It seems to help radiate heat, but I'm hoping we don't have to figure out if they actually work to generate enough body heat without a heating pad. We're having a cold snap and I bought these to put on my bed just in case. In short, people leave their animals and I take them in. Unfortunately I have so many cats that the dogs can't stay in the house when I'm not at home, otherwise there will be chaos and people will die. I hate keeping my dogs in the garage, even with their own heater, heating pads under the beds, and a warming bowl. I was concerned that if the power went out they wouldn't be warm enough without something to reflect their body heat, so I bought these. Pretty expensive for what you get. There's not a lot of padding and they don't look like much, but they help to disperse body heat. This was the destination in the event of a power outage. Will be updated after washing for product durability.
