Review on 🧼 Soakwash Liquid Laundry Detergent, 12-Ounce, Fragrance-Free by Richard Gonzales

We have a huge amount of wool and delicate fabrics at home. My husband is a little more wary of machine washing, but I machine wash many of my sweaters and other delicates, as well as wool and delicates for my kids, with an unscented soaking agent. I still clean a lot of things (like nicer knits/wools, formal wear, etc) but I find this method works well for me. With a little experimentation, here's what I do: (1) put my clothes in laundry bags for delicate fabrics; Make sure you only do a lot of similar colors together. I have found that some bright colored cashmere sweaters pill a little when hand washed. (2) Squeeze a sufficient amount of Soak directly onto the laundry in the drum. (I use a front-loading HE machine). I also put enough detergent in the detergent drawer. I don't have an exact amount for this as it depends on how often I wash, but one bottle lasts about 5-7 good loads (and sometimes a lot more). (3) Set the soak setting to COLD wash. This is an important step as I found that my clothes then actually received a 'wash' that mimicked a hand wash/soak. If you don't have a pre-soak setting I would experiment with the options on your machine. The goal is for your items to soak in the water with as little movement as possible. It really serves as the main part of the "laundry". (4) Run garments on gentle cycle in COLD wash, then lay flat to dry. (Full disclosure that I actually soak my stuff beforehand and then just run it through with a regular cold wash because I've found that a very low spin on the fine tune makes my clothes so damp it takes a lot of time. I find it it works, but there is a much higher risk of damaging the garment.Sometimes I also lay the garment on a dry towel, put another towel on top and gently roll it over to dry.) The laundry has a wet wool smells odorless when used, but is not. doesn't bother me and fades when it dries. Having chemical sensitivities in our family, we have never tried any of the flavored versions of this remedy. Soak is meant for no-rinse soap, but I prefer rinsing it out. As others have said this is not a cheap option but for us using it on many wool/delicate fabrics about twice a month has saved quite a bit of dry cleaning time. I also find myself less "expensive" with some clothes that I might not wear because I don't want to take them to the dry cleaner. Please note I have also used this to wash my hands and have found it to be a good product. I just don't have the patience to wash/rinse (since I don't like to skip rinsing) and then dry. For items that I'm more careful with and definitely don't want to promote, I still hand wash them. I deducted a star because I found that the bottle (simple squeeze bottle) gets dirty and that it's a bit pricey. I have it in my subscription and save which is a testament to how often I use it and how happy I am with it so far.
