My husband and I put this together for our furry babies in 15-20 minutes. We left the cylinder tunnel aside because a 4 year old likes to ride in it. It is very durable. We have 3 adult cats weighing 12-14 lbs and 1 adult kitten weighing 8 lbs. All 4 are often on it at the same time and it hasn't broken or fallen over. The hardest fell while rolling in the catnip and that kept him from freaking out and clinging to life, so I don't think he's going to fall any time soon. The small bowl that hangs down the side easily holds even the heaviest cat. My only complaint is that the hammock falls easily, but that's to be expected with the hooks provided. If I remember I'll move on to 3 months to add how he handled my crazy fur babies. *UPDATE* So I remembered! After about 1.5 months of overuse, the top has become too weak and no screwing will hold it up. We even tried some glue but it was too wobbly. I ended up using Gorilla Wood Glue to hold it together and it holds up well without a screw. My smallest cat loves the bowl and broke the rope. He managed to unravel it. My older cat only scratched the A pillar and he scratched it to oblivion so I flipped the tower and switched to the other back of the head so he would keep scratching. Finally we replaced the hammock because they love playing through the hole in the middle tier. All in all, I can still say that I definitely got my money's worth. 4 cats use it daily and honestly I didn't expect it to last that long. **December 2016 Update** Besides everything I mentioned, I wanted to share how I updated the tower. I will now replace all the rope rods with the rope purchased here. Although I'm doing a DIY project I wanted to share how it looks and my cats love it. The only reason I work so hard to preserve this tower is because my husband's child is in love with him. bowl so I can't take it away from him. lol oh yeah I bought a bed to go upstairs as the pole is long gone. It turned out to be a good idea. :) I hope my detailed review has helped and inspired all readers! Here is the rope I bought to redo the scratching posts: TW. Evans Cordage 23-410 3/8" on 100' twisted sisal rope with no glue then just alternate. You will need to buy 2 if you want to completely redo the floor.
