Let me just say I hate putting things like this together. I bought this table after reading the reviews. I wanted this for a lego table and it worked great. Wherever I had to insert a screw or a wooden dowel, I additionally reinforced it with wood glue. Every hole lines up, every wooden dowel went in smoothly with no issues. I did it slowly, step by step, and I've had no problems with chipboard splits, dowel cracks, etc., and I've used a drill press for this, still no problems with splits or breakage. Yes it's chipboard, I wasn't expecting oak for this price folks! After assembling it, I actually sat on it and nothing happened. Below is a very nice shelf for storing finished Lego creations, two fabric baskets for lots of Lego (which I reinforced with a layer of cardboard on the bottom) and instructions. Two or three kids can easily work at this table, put cushions on the floor and you're good to go. My son loves crafting with his Lego now that he has a place so inviting to do it! I like that everything can be stored in one place.
