I think it's a newer model because it has a magnetic charging cable. The packaging is smaller than expected, but the device fits me very well. I think this kind of technology (bone conduction) doesn't give you much bass. I've also noticed that if I squeeze the device harder while touching the bone, it gets louder and sounds better. I just received this so I'm trying to see if I can bend the wire to adjust the position. Not sure why it comes with an earbud, maybe if you don't want to hear outside noise? You can hear a noise when you hold the device about 3 inches from your ear, otherwise you can't hear anything. After using it at a higher volume, you can hear it in a quiet place like an elevator. Other people cannot hear when there is an appropriate level of background noise.
