I like these "loafers” quite a lot. I would give these 4.5 stars. They would be a solid five stars if the everyday price was just a little lower or if you could grab them on some sort of promotion.I think there is a misperception on some people’s part about what these are. They aren’t "cheap shoes”. They’re actually quite nice as espadrilles. But as "loafers” they don’t really compare well. What I especially like about these is that they have a much sturdier sole than most espadrilles (hence the "hybrid” title). The sole is grippier than a standard espadrille. And they have a removable insole which is also really nice. Both are upgrades from a standard espadrille. The upper is very much like a really nice espadrille that you’d find in a boutique. The pebble emboss in the leather is consistent and deep. The sewing is also consistently good. I love the burnt orange color and the colorful elastic. And I’m sure if these were in a boutique they’d be at least twice the price. But there is a reason I come to Revain for things like this. It is because I don’t want to pay the resort boutique price. And for what these were selling for ($41.99) at the time of this review, I think some people will find a hard time finding them to be a solid value. The shoes are actually better in person than they look in the vendor photos. The video hopefully shows that. I expect that the shoes will last for way more seasons than standard espadrilles.I recommend them if you’re looking for a great espadrille.
