Update - I'm still happy with it, after unplugging it and leaving it alone for 2 months, then using air and a small brush to clean the connectors, the LEDs no longer pulsate. Most likely due to bugs or moisture, both of which are an issue where I live and I've been told both can damage electronics. It's been 10 months now and only one LED is still off, the light from the others illuminates this port so it's not very noticeable especially when you use it, but this port, along with the others, is still working. So I'm using it again and wanted to update this to be fair to the seller as I genuinely believe it was on my end. Also, the cord is 20 inches long, I don't know why people say it's short, and the grommets keep it in place.
