I purchased this pendant as a birthday gift for an 8 year old girls, and she loves it. The problem, though, is that the chain if flimsy and broke the first day she wore it. Luckily she was abel to collect the two pieces of chain and the pendant and I repaired it. I'd rather pay a little extra money for a better quality chain than chance the girl losing it. I have also purchased another chain for her sister (gymnastics pendant) which I hope will not suffer a similar fate, but I fear it may also break just as easily. If you do buy the pendant, please check the chain where the small chain connects to the larger links because that's exactly where it broke. Otherwise, the pendant was much larger than I expected but she loves it, so I'm okay with that. I gave only four stars because of the chain.
