Review on Wi-Fi adapter TP-LINK Archer T4E, green by Micha Spodymek ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product, good quality, not bad.

Utilized for a duration of 18 months. Only Linux users get 4 points. Now I have the Archer TX50E, which does not run on Realtek but rather Intel. TX50E is fully compatible with either Windows or Linux. Distinct benefits: Excellent performance with Windows. A speed test reveals speeds of 150-200 Mbps (access point manufacturer unknown; Mikrotik RBD52G, 5GHz). I tried some games that are particularly sensitive to latency, but I was unable to tell any difference between playing them wirelessly and playing them cable. This means that you can now use Wi-Fi on your computer. Many drawbacks: Linux compatibility is bad at 5 GHz. The speeds are 30 Mbps down and 3 Mbps up. After testing numerous Linux distributions, I was able to narrow it down to a single kernel that provided performance on par with Windows. Version 5.4 of the kernel (back when it was called Linux Mint). Eating the kernel will quickly reduce your Wi-Fi signal to the above states. It's almost certainly a bug in the Linux kernel's driver support.
