Good mount works best with monitor arms

(I also have a dual arm version of this mount and some reviews match as the products are very similar) This is a pretty good monitor mount. It's solid, fairly easy to assemble, and keeps my monitors stable. This company has a version identical to this one except it has two mounting arms and the post is slightly taller. The hands are compatible. Both are good products despite the brand name Chinasium. When installing this I highly recommend slacking off the tension on the gas cylinder in your hand *before* you remove the velcro that holds it in place during transport. The C-Clamp has a very wide range of thicknesses to work with. Unless you have an incredibly thick table, I doubt it will fit. The only other issue I see is whether you have a melamine or MDF table. Commonly referred to as "chipboard," they're cheap material from IKEA or Office Max. Melamine and MDF are good because they're dimensionally stable: they don't warp with temperature or humidity. However, due to their shorter wood grain, they are not as strong as real (untreated) wood. I custom made my table from 19mm thick solid oak. I have two of these mounts and one of its older sisters with two levers. They all tighten the wood as the clamps are not centered on the monitors, but there is no kinking and everything is smooth and even because the oak is strong. resilience. It can break - unlikely, but possible. It's just something to keep in mind, and it's more of a desk issue than a monitor arm issue.
