So many negative reviews got me confused but I have other Tetra products that have always worked great for me so I gave them a try. The first thing that immediately caught my eye is that it is rated for 1200 gallons. Yes. 1200 gallons!. .so just count. I have a 3 gallon acrylic tank so my dose was just a few drops. I had to measure them with a disposable plastic syringe (highly recommend). I also cleaned the tank and added this product to NEW water (along with TETRA Aquasafe water conditioner) as I wasn't expecting it to kill any existing algae I had up to that point. After using it for its intended purpose I can say that the results have been amazing. No trace of algae for over a week. In the past, not even 3-4 days passed in the aquarium without large hairy algae and other green slime appearing almost everywhere. IU has a few natural plants and although I scratched a little while cleaning the aquarium, I expected the algae to grow back quickly if I didn't use this product (after all, any traces remain on rocks, artificial vegetation or even roots of existing real plants would leave a "seed" for new algae to grow). Toxicity is in the dose: you would never swallow an entire can of table salt. Likewise, don't overdo it with this product: just use the right amount per gallon of water you have. Treat it once and just apply to a lot of new water when replacing old water.
