The perfect dog bed! The sides are soft but strong enough to stay up for my dog to cuddle. The middle of the bed is soft and padded. I've washed it several times and it fits perfectly. The fabric opens so it's easy to put on and take off for washing. To protect the pillow inside I bought a standard size pillow protector made from waterproof fabric and bed bug repellent. Now I wash the fabric and protective pad every time, and the inner pillow stays clean of dirt and odors.
