I bought two of these to do close up interview style shots with fill light. They replaced a few main lights with external batteries that we borrowed from a photographer friend for a couple of weeks. The lights are medium in size and less than 2.5 cm thick. They have a metal swivel arm and several adapters for mounting on a flash shoe or tripod. They're adjustable from a very warm orange light to a very blue-white light with a nice screen on the back showing color temperature and brightness levels. I found their brightness to be enough to bring out the details of the subject. During their first outing, I ran these lights on battery power and after about an hour they went into overheat mode. If they overheat, they will turn off until they have cooled sufficiently, then turn on again. It was pretty bad live. Luckily, a useful feature of these lamps is that they can work while plugged in or charging. I plugged it in and overheating only happened once. So I can only assume that the onboard battery gets very hot when discharging and the form factor just can't take it, plus the heat from the LEDs. Otherwise they worked well and matched well. I only recommend that you leave them plugged in if you intend to use them for a long period of time.
