Wow! To be honest I wasn't expecting too much from this little lamp, but damn it. Now I'm showing it to all my friends! If it were possible to characterize the pixel g1 in one word, it would be convenient. This is literally one of the best flashlights I've ever owned. Out of the box, this thing is hefty. It is well mounted in a metal case. It's not too hard, but definitely easy. It definitely doesn't look like garbage. It's slightly larger than my iPhone X and comes with a carrying case. It also comes with its own USB-C charging cable. Why did this thing blow my mind? Well, for $70, that's a lot! It has a built-in dimmer, you can change the color temperature. But you can also change the colors, which is very convenient! I no longer have to buy gels. There are tons of different colors. So what if you're shooting a movie and need to highlight an exit sign in a scene? You can change the color of the light to red and it's so small you can hide the light. The light is also very bright. It will definitely brighten up a dark room! LEDs help with this. And since they're LED, the light doesn't get hot. what is good. But one thing that really caught my attention. FX light. one special. They have an effect that mimics the appearance of fire. Do a scene where you need an actor looking at a roaring fireplace in a cabin. or a shot of a homeless man huddled around a burning trash can (80s too?) Well, that light is perfect. It shimmers and adds that cool fire effect. I achieve this effect by having someone dim the light while simultaneously moving the orange and yellow gels in front of the light source. No longer. The light also comes with a bracket. This can pop up and reveal an extra shoe mount, as this will hold your camera mount they give you one back. again. I know you're tired of hearing me say this, but it's very CONVENIENT. The LED on the back is actually quite nice, and the button navigation can take a while to learn and get used to. but once you know what it is and what you can do with it, you'll get comfortable. I'm at a film festival this weekend and I showed this light to every director and everyone loved it. ! At least 3 of them bought it before me! This is definitely one of Amazon's best kept secrets right now. For the price, it's portable, bright and the battery lasts a long time. Be sure to add this to your set. Damn, I could buy another one. maybe two more! Definitely perfect for news photos, independent filmmakers and event photographers!
