Comfortable standing and walking for long periods. I deducted a star because I bought this product a few years ago and they changed something about how the soles are made. They wash well, but when they dry they deform. The previous shoes have endured two years of monthly washing and drying with no problems. If you don't tumble dry them and let them air dry, it will take about two days. I also recommend gel insoles as the insole has less cushioning than the old model. With those two caveats, this is a good walking shoe and washes really well. I was walking through mud that contained road dirt, including motor oil, and I thought I'd ruined my shoes. Washing with regular detergent all the oil stains were gone and they looked ready for use. I work in an office where athletic shoes are frowned upon. If you're wearing something even slightly color-coordinated, it won't look like your weekend sneaker. In general a good buy.
