Took 2 minutes to install after I found the bolt: Drill a 1/4" hole in the post, countersink it Drywall with a 1/2" bit to allow threads to enter the shank and then manually screw into the hook. The hook is strong enough that I could almost get up off the floor before I felt the hook flex started (and I'm just over 200lbs) so don't worry about holding the bike. And there's enough room in the hole to pull my 2.25" tires in. I noticed that some other reviews mention that the threads aren't very long when used through drywall, but as long as the entire screw portion goes into the wood it will be fine, just make sure you use a full wall pl Atte cut through big enough to slide the shaft in until it hit the post (1/2" was a bit big, 3/8" would probably be about perfect)
