Shredded latex is great in that you can reshape the pillow to give different support depending on how you sleep, or even remove a piece to make it smaller if needed . Puretree support is AMAZING. For me it says a lot if the support is firstly responsive, secondly helpful and thirdly takes care of you even a year after you bought the product. How many companies claim to have a guarantee and then let you down when you have a problem? He took care of me and I would like to point out that unfortunately this is a rarity. It's a long story, it's a bit of an ups and downs story, which is why I'm naked here. I now have two such pillows (one will probably go in the shorter garbage). I bought my first one over a year ago. I was looking for a cool sleeping pillow that could be shaped (crushed latex helps with that) not just a static ergonomic shape or something like some of the previous pillows I've bought. I have bought many pillows, memory foam, bamboo, with cooling gel, all have their problems and most of the time they just sleep too hot for me. I was hoping it might be the pillow that would finally help me sleep cooler at night. I immediately had problems with the first pillow. I've read reviews from several people who had problems with smelly pillows and that they washed or disinfected them and that fixed the problem. I figured we only have a few reviews like this I'd take a chance and if I stink I know how to fix it! Well I DEFINITELY got stinky, just awful. I mean a horrible chemical smell that I can't even describe. I tried airing it for a few days, it got better but definitely still there. I've tried Febreze, didn't really help and I've tried washing it off, but I have an agitator in my HE washing machine and it's ok. it does NOT work, shall we say. (They state ER doesn't have an agitator so I knew beforehand I just decided to give it a try as I didn't have any options.) Here's the problem, I loved sleeping on this pillow . Super comfortable, sleeps well and finally I finally sleep well! You can adjust the amount of shredded latex in the pillow, you can "fluff it up" to position your neck and head the way you want it, and then it will hold that shape while you sleep! I loved the pillow but that smell. I decided to just try and live with it. Even after more than a year, the smell was still there, it didn't go away. One day I came across a Puretree flyer that came with the pillow and it reminded me it was under warranty. Now I do NOT like contacting customer service so I hated the first few months believing that the smell would go away and the standard return period would pass. However, I thought I loved everything about this pillow except the smell. Maybe this time I'll contact support and ask if there's a trick to remove the smell. To my surprise, they responded fairly quickly and offered to send me a new Puretree pillow to solve my problem! I gratefully accepted the offer and waited for the pillow, hoping this time it wouldn't smell like the one I already had. I can tell you now this second pillow I got from you is AWESOME. The smell of natural latex is much less pronounced than the first and also has a milder smell that is much more pleasant and much more tolerable. The pillow is the same as the first one, fantastic just doesn't smell terrible. I couldn't be happier. I really don't know why I didn't contact support sooner and instead slept on a smelly pillow for over a year. I would buy this pillow again and recommend it.
